Elephant Training Centre
Kodanad Elephant Training Center is one of the largest elephant training centers in Kerala, located at Kodanad on the banks of Periyar River. Stranded adult and baby elephants rescued from forest areas of Kerala are trained at this centre. The elephants that are trained are used for forestry tasks such as carrying timber from one place to another, exploring forests and for elephant safaris. Kodnad is known for its elephant rescue center.
Poru Waterfalls
Located in the Ernakulam region of Kerala, Panieli is a distraction in the flow of the Periyar River due to the Poru rock formations. The pressure of the spout results in the formation of a small waterfall which has been developed as a tourist destination and is called Panieli Poru. The flow of water from the river is challenged by rocks and a disturbance develops.
