I was in India for business, Alkof Holidays was able to arrange a custom itinerary based on where I was, when I was available, and what I was interested in. When I wanted to make an adjustment mid-trip they helped out for no extra charge. I will not hesitate to use them again.

Just like the previous one, this tour was also comfortable, we booked all 4 star properties through them and it was a nice stay there, driver Suresh was fantastic, he was always on time and took special care of us. My daughter, I and my husband enjoyed the tour. Will travel with them again, next time to Ladakh. Thank you.

The wildlife sightings exceeded all expectations.

Communication before and during the trip was excellent. Having WhatsApp and an eSIM was very helpful, and any questions we had were answered quickly. Internal flights, boarding passes, and transfers were all clearly organized. Our focus was wildlife, but we were also very happy with the accommodation throughout the trip. We stayed at Kavish Gir Lion Resort and Aranyak Resorts near Kanha and Bandhavgarh. The rooms were spacious, the food was excellent, and the staff were always welcoming. Be prepared for some long road journeys and flights, but they are all part of the adventure. We appreciated arriving at the national park gates early each morning, as the cooler hours provided the best wildlife viewing opportunities. The wildlife sightings exceeded all expectations. At Gir National Park, we saw an incredible 26 Asiatic lions, including cubs, along with jackals, mongoose, wild boar, and many beautiful bird species. At Bandhavgarh, we were fortunate to spot six tigers, as well as Indian gaur, owls, hornbills, eagles, and vultures. One of the most memorable moments was watching a magnificent tiger slowly cross the road directly in front of our safari vehicle. Alkof Holidays and India made this trip truly unforgettable. We highly recommend Alkof Holidays to wildlife lovers and would happily travel with them again. A few tips for future travelers: bring binoculars, a good camera, and some extra tissues or toilet paper. We were also advised that mobile phones are not permitted during safaris in India's national parks, which was not an issue for us as keen photographers.

Frequently asked questions about Tiger Safari
India has several important tiger reserves, with Bandhavgarh, Kanha, Pench, Ranthambore, Tadoba and Jim Corbett among the most popular choices for tiger safari travelers. Each park has a different landscape and wildlife experience, so the right choice depends on your travel dates, available time and whether you want to visit one reserve or combine several parks in a longer tiger safari tour.
Tiger safaris operate across different parts of India from October onward, depending on the national park. October to February generally offers cooler weather and comfortable safari conditions, while March to May is hotter and drier but offer excellent opportunities for tiger sightings. Many major tiger reserves remain closed during the monsoon, generally from mid-June until the end of September, so the best time to plan your tiger safari also depends on the national parks included in your itinerary.
No. Bengal tigers are wild animals that move freely through large forest territories, so a tiger sighting can never be guaranteed. Taking multiple jeep safaris can significantly improve your chances because you spend more time inside the forest and have more opportunities to follow fresh tracks, alarm calls and other signs of tiger movement.
For travelers whose main purpose is to see wildlife and search for Bengal tigers, we recommend at least two private jeep safaris at each tiger reserve. If you have more time, we recommend four private jeep safaris in the core zones at each tiger reserve you are visiting. This can significantly improve your chances of seeing Bengal tigers in their natural habitat, along with other wildlife.
Most of our tiger safari tours include private jeep safaris. However, a few tours, particularly those covering Ranthambore, may include shared safaris to keep the tour cost more affordable and accessible to different types of wildlife and nature lovers.
We recommend checking the inclusions of your selected safari tour before booking to confirm whether the safaris are private or shared. If a tour includes shared jeep safaris and you would prefer a private jeep, contact us before booking. We can upgrade the safari arrangement at an additional cost, subject to availability.
Please note: Safaris in Bandipur National Park and Kabini Wildlife Sanctuary, which is part of Nagarhole National Park, are generally operated on a shared basis. Depending on availability, the safari may be operated by jeep or canter. Travelers should expect shared safaris in Bandipur and Kabini unless traveling with a private group of at least 5 to 6 people.
Bandhavgarh, Kanha and Pench work particularly well together as a Central India tiger safari circuit. Travelers can visit all three reserves in one journey, experiencing different forest landscapes and multiple private jeep safaris.
Other popular tiger safari combinations include:
- Bandhavgarh, Kanha and Ranthambore National Parks
- Panna, Bandhavgarh and Kanha National Parks
- Pench National Park and Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve
- Ranthambore National Park and Jim Corbett National Park
- Bandipur National Park and Kabini Wildlife Sanctuary
The best combination depends on your travel dates, available time and the number of safaris you would like to include. Longer itineraries can also combine tiger reserves with Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and other destinations in India.
