"The Palace On Wheels" is a premier luxury train service introduced by Indian Railways in collaboration with the Government of Rajasthan, inspired by the regal heritage of Rajputana. Launched in 1982, this iconic train began with passenger coaches used by British rulers and Indian royalty before Independence. In 1990, the Palace On Wheels was revamped with modern amenities, featuring air-conditioned coaches, 13 luxurious saloons, 4 service cars, a bar cum lounge, and 2 restaurant cum kitchen cars. By 1995, further enhancements included 14 saloons, expanded bar and dining facilities, a library, a doctor on call, and a fully-equipped lounge.
On an 8-day journey aboard the Palace On Wheels Luxury Train Tour, you’ll traverse the vast and vibrant landscapes of Rajasthan and Agra, immersing yourself in rich Indian culture. Welcome aboard the luxurious Palace On Wheels! This morning, an Alkof Holidays representative will pick you up from your New Delhi hotel for a half-day sightseeing tour. Explore Delhi's iconic landmarks, including India Gate, Qutub Minar, and Humayun's Tomb.
In the afternoon, around 4:00 PM, you'll be transferred to Safdarjung Railway Station to embark on your week-long journey aboard the Palace On Wheels. Upon arrival, you'll receive a traditional welcome with garlands, tikka, and a turban. After completing check-in, enjoy a photo session with the Palace On Wheels staff in their regal attire. You'll then be escorted to your luxurious saloon cabin, where your personal attendant will provide a briefing on the cabin's amenities. The train departs at 6:30 PM, and dinner will be served onboard as you begin your royal adventure.
Enjoy a delightful breakfast onboard as the Palace On Wheels arrives at Jaipur railway station, where you'll be greeted by a majestic Royal Elephant. Begin your exploration of Jaipur with visits to the St. Albert Museum, City Palace, Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), and Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its astronomical significance.
In the afternoon, journey to the breathtaking Amber Fort and Palace, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built by Raja Man Singh in 1592 from red sandstone and marble, this grand fort sits atop a scenic hill next to Maota Lake and features an extensive palace complex. Ranthambore National Park: Enjoy breakfast onboard as you begin your day with an early morning jungle safari at Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, departing around 6:30 AM. This thrilling safari offers the chance to spot elusive Bengal tigers in their natural habitat, along with other wildlife such as leopards, striped hyenas, sambar deer, chital, nilgai, and sloth bears. You'll also have the opportunity to see a variety of reptiles and birds, including marsh crocodiles, monitor lizards, and a range of exotic birds. After your safari, return to Sawai Madhopur Railway Station and set off for Chittorgarh by 10:00 AM, with lunch served onboard.
Chittorgarh Hill Fort: Arriving at Chittorgarh Railway Station around 4:00 PM, you'll explore the majestic Chittorgarh Fort, the largest fort in India and a symbol of Rajput valor. The fort, which endured multiple sieges by Mughal invaders from 1303 to 1568, showcases the fierce resistance of its Hindu rulers. Key sites within the fort include Rana Kumbha's Palace, Kumbha Shyam Temple, Victory Tower, Meerabai Temple, Padmini's Palace, Chittorgarh Museum, and Jaimal and Patta Palaces.

- Palace on Wheels Cabins are subject to availability. To secure your bookings, we recommend booking your tour at least 90 days in advance.
- To book your Luxury train tour, we require a clear photo of the traveler's passport, or a valid ID proof. Please carry your original valid passport or ID proof to present at the entry gate for safaris.
- No Show: In the event of a no-show or non-arrival, no refund or future travel adjustments will be possible. The entire amount will be considered forfeited.
- Termination of Tour: If the guest terminates the tour for any reason, no refund or adjustment for future travel will be provided. The amount for the unused portion of the tour will be considered forfeited.
- Amendments: Amendments are only possible in cases of natural disasters, natural calamities, or serious health problems (supported by a doctor's certificate) and are subject to availability. Refunds are not possible, and each case will be reviewed individually. Please note that amendments are not permitted for group bookings or complete train bookings.
- Consider wearing light and breathable fabrics in neutral colors (avoiding bright colors) and layering for temperature changes. Opt for sturdy, comfortable walking shoes, and bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, and light snacks for the journey.
- Special Note: Please respect wildlife and their natural habitats during your safari. Maintain a safe distance, avoid loud noises, and follow all guidelines provided by your guides. Your cooperation helps protect these incredible animals and ensures a positive experience for everyone.
- For easy communication on the go, consider downloading WhatsApp, as it is widely used in India.
- Transportation is provided according to the itinerary only and is not available on a disposal or point-to-point basis.
- Any costs arising from natural calamities such as landslides, road blockages, political disturbances (e.g., strikes), etc., are to be borne by the client. We will not be held liable for any refunds or compensation claims resulting from these circumstances.

Payment Terms
A deposit of 10% is required to confirm this tour, and the remaining balance will be charged 90 days prior tour starting date. For any bookings within 90 days of departure, the full tour amount will be charged upon booking. This can be paid through bank transfer, credit/debit card, or cash.
