Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple
Sree Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple is a revered Hindu temple in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It is dedicated to Lord Ananta, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. And it is one of the richest temples in the world. Padmanabhaswamy temple architecture is a blend of Kerala style and Dravidian style, and the temple has a 100-foot tall gopuram (ornate entrance). Inside, in the main temple, an 18-foot statue of the main deity in Ananthasayanam posture stands on Adi Shesha. Padmanabhaswamy Temple is one of the 108 holy temples of Lord Vishnu, the date of foundation of the temple is unknown. But according to popular beliefs, it was established about 5000 years ago.
Poovar Island
The most beguiling Poovar Island, located just 30 km from Trivandrum, is an abode of natural beauty. Known for its pristine charm, this island is full of peace-lovers. Also known as a fishing village, the serene island is situated between the Arabian Sea and the Neyyar River. The place where sea, river and land meet is a rare find in Kerala and a natural wonder. Agasthyakoodam
Agasthyakudam, also known as Agastyamala Peak, is the second highest peak in Kerala with a height of 1868 metres. Situated within the premises of the Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Agasthyakudam is part of the Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve and boasts of surreal natural beauty. Nestled in the Sahyadris of the Western Ghats, the slopes of the summit are painted the purple hue of orchids. Home to a diverse species of fauna and rare species of medicinal herbs, the region is a hotspot for avifauna and exotic birds.
Kanakakunnu Palace
Kanakkunnu Place is the last trace of the architectural remnants of the colonial era. It is built in typical Kerala style of architecture with an attractive red colored façade that attracts everyone, and is located very close to the famous Napier Museum. Atop a small hill is the Kanakkunnu Palace, with its head held high, surrounded by lush green meadows that adorn the place. The palace hosts the All India Dance Festival, known as the Nishagandhi Utsav.
Napier Museum
Famous for its fine collection of sculptures, paintings and musical instruments, the Napier Museum serves as a major attraction of the city. Located in the heart of the city, it is also an architectural marvel that was established around 150 years ago.
