Gondal was an 11-gun salute princely state covering an area of about 2,652 square kilometers. Founded in 1634 by Jadeja Rajputs, Gondal Princely State was modernized by HH Maharaja Sir Bhagwatsinhji from the 1880s to the 1940s. The mansion is set in gardens beside a river. The property is furnished with old dressers, four-poster beds, and antique pieces. The 11 bedrooms are spacious and high-ceilinged, with elegant colonial period furniture, and each has an attached bath. Stroll around the garden and riverside to spot birds.

Kaba Gandhi no Delo

Kaba Gandhi no Delo

The words Kaba Gandhi no Delo literally means 'Kaba Gandhi's Residence. One can witness the life of the Mahatma in pictures in the house that have both Hindi and Gujarati captions. It is said that Gandhiji spent the early years of his childhood, from 1881 to 1887 AD, in this house. The structure of the building has been built in a Saurashtrian style of architecture and boasts arched gateways and courtyards. Many relics like Gandhi's personal belongings and other objects are also housed here. Khambhalida Caves, also known as Rajkot Caves, are a set of three Buddhist caves. They are located near the Gondal town in the Rajkot district of Gujarat. They were discovered in the year 1958 by a renowned archaeologist, P.P. Pandya. Out of the three caves, the centre cave is named chaitya and is a worn out stupa. These caves date back to the 4th century AD and are believed to be the oldest caves in Rajkot and a true architectural wonder. The Khambhalida Caves are being maintained by the Archaeology Department of Gujarat. The caves were cut out of limestone rocks.
