Shri Jagannatha Temple

Located in the holy city of Puri, the Jagannath Temple or the Pride of India was built by King Indradyumna in the 11th century. This glorious temple is the abode of Lord Jagannath who is a form of Lord Vishnu. It is the most revered pilgrimage site for Hindus and is involved in the holy Char Dham Yatra along with Badrinath, Dwarka, and Rameshwaram. Apart from the main temple which rises higher, several smaller temples within the complex will make you feel as if you have entered the Lord's house.

Markandeshwar Temple is one of the famous Hindu temples in the city of Puri, Odisha. The temple is situated on Markandeshwar Street adjacent to Markandeshwar Talab, north of Jagannath Temple. It is one of the Panch Tirthas of Puri and one of the fifty-two holy Shiva places in India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to belong to the 12th century Ganga dynasty. The temple is associated with the rituals of Jagannath Temple's Chandan Yatra, Balabhadra Janma, Ashram BJ, Sital Shashthi, Kaliyadalan, etc.

Loknath Temple is an ancient temple located in the city of Puri. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it is one of the most important Shiva temples in Odisha. The presiding deity of this 11th-century temple is Lord Lokanatha in the form of Lingam. According to history, the Shivling in this temple was established by Lord Rama. The unique feature of the temple is that the Shiva Linga is always submerged in water which confirms the legend that Goddess Ganga flows like a stream from the top of the Shiva Linga. It can be seen only on Pankodhar Ekadashi, before Shivaratri, when water is drawn from the Shivling. Thousands of devotees come for darshan on that day.

Chilka Lake is Asia's largest inland saltwater lagoon located near Satpada in Odisha. The lake is surrounded by small islands which include the most attractive Honeymoon Island and Breakfast Island. The lake also serves as one of the most supportive ecosystems named after the Chilka Lake Sanctuary. It is the largest wintering ground for migratory birds in the Indian subcontinent. White-bellied sea eagles, greylag geese, purple moorhens, jacanas, herons, and flamingos are among the many species that make the lake a bird watcher's enjoyment. Chilka is, in fact, one of the world's largest breeding colonies of flamingos.

Gundicha Temple is one of the most famous Hindu temples of Puri. Gundicha Temple is a common place of celebration during the annual Rath Yatra and is one of the most famous places to visit in Puri. The Gundicha Ghar was built by Gundicha Maharani, the queen of King Indradyumna, the founder of the first Jagannath Temple. The temple is located right next to the Jagannath temple and is popularly known as his maternal aunt's house because when the Rath Yatra festival takes place, Lord Jagannath is shifted to the Gundicha temple for seven days.
