Itinerary
Upon arrival at Bhubaneswar Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by an Alkof Holidays representative and transferred to your hotel. Check in and relax after your journey. The rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Bhubaneswar, known for its ancient temples and heritage sites. Visit the rock-cut Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves, which offer insight into early Indian history and architecture. Continue to explore the city’s famous temples, including Lingaraja Temple, Parasurameswara Temple, Mukteswar Temple, and Raja Rani Temple, known for their beautiful stone carvings and architecture. Later, visit Dhauli Hills, a peaceful site associated with Emperor Ashoka. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Bhubaneswar.
After breakfast at the hotel, take a day excursion to Joranda, a quiet spiritual center located in rural Odisha. Joranda is known as the headquarters of the Mahima movement and is home to several simple monasteries and sacred sites. Visit important landmarks such as the samadhi of Mahima Gosain and a few key temples that reflect the area’s unique spiritual traditions. Spend time observing the peaceful surroundings and local way of life. Later, return to Bhubaneswar for an overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, drive from Bhubaneswar to Puri with a stop at Konark en route. Visit the famous Konark Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its impressive stone carvings and unique chariot-shaped design. You may also visit the nearby A.S.I. Museum and enjoy a short walk along Chandrabhaga Beach. Later, continue your drive to Puri. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at the hotel in Puri.
After breakfast at the hotel, visit the renowned Jagannath Temple, one of the four sacred pilgrimage sites of India, dating back to the 12th century. Dedicated to Lord Jagannath, the temple is famous for its grand annual Rath Yatra (Chariot Festival) and plays a central role in the cultural and spiritual life of Odisha. Entry inside the temple is restricted to Hindus; however, non-Hindu visitors can view the impressive temple complex from outside. Later, drive towards Chilika Lake, Asia’s largest brackish water lagoon, known for its scenic beauty and rich birdlife. Enjoy a peaceful boat ride on the lake (subject to weather and availability), with chances to spot migratory birds and dolphins. After the visit, continue your drive to Gopalpur. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at the hotel in Gopalpur.
After breakfast, drive to Rayagada and check in at your hotel upon arrival. After a short rest, proceed to the Kotagad area to visit local tribal villages. Here, you will have the opportunity to observe the traditional lifestyle of the Kutia Kondh community and visit a weekly village market (subject to schedule). On the return journey to Rayagada, stop in the Dukum region for a gentle walk through nearby villages, where you can see local crafts such as pottery and handmade tribal jewelry, and learn about the daily life of Desia Kondh communities. Later, return to the hotel in Rayagada for an overnight stay.
After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Chhatikona Market, a colorful weekly market where local communities gather to trade forest produce, handicrafts, and everyday goods. This visit offers a unique opportunity to observe traditional rural life and browse handmade souvenirs. Later, drive to Jeypore, a historic town known for its royal heritage and relaxed atmosphere. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and take time to relax. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely walk around the local area, exploring the town and experiencing daily life at an easy pace. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive to Onukudelli to visit a local weekly market, where different tribal communities from the region gather to trade local produce and handicrafts. This visit offers an opportunity to observe the traditional lifestyle, clothing, and jewellery of communities such as the Bonda, Gadaba, and Didayi in a natural and respectful setting. Later, enjoy lunch at the Desia Rural Tourism Center, known for serving simple, authentic regional cuisine and offering insight into local hospitality. After the excursion, return to Jeypore and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel in Jeypore.
Early in the morning, depart from Jeypore for Visakhapatnam. En route, stop at the Kunduli weekly market, one of the largest and most colorful rural markets in the region. The market brings together local communities such as the Sana Paroja and Mali, offering a lively atmosphere with fresh produce, handicrafts, and everyday goods. Spend time exploring the market and observing local life in a natural setting. After the visit, continue your drive to Visakhapatnam. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and relax. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel or earlier as per your flight timing, our driver will transfer you to Visakhapatnam Airport to board a flight to your home or onward destination.
