Pachmarhi is a hill station located in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is known for its colonial-era architecture, natural beauty, and peaceful atmosphere.

Some popular tourist attractions in Pachmarhi include the Raj-era bungalows and buildings such as the St. Peters Church, the Jatashankar Caves, the Pandav Caves and The Handi Khoh, a deep ravine. There is also a beautiful waterfall named Dhoopgarh, which is the highest point of the Satpura Range and offers panoramic views of the surroundings.

Tourists can also visit nearby places such as Bori Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a variety of wildlife including tigers, leopards, and bears. Climate is cool and pleasant through out the year, but best time to visit Pachmarhi is from October to June. Monsoon season is from July to September, it is not the ideal time to visit Pachmarhi, but still the town and its surroundings are beautiful.

The cave is about 60 feet long and houses the idols of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Ganesha along with a Shivling. According to mythology, Bada Mahadev Cave is the place where Lord Vishnu took the form of a divine beauty Mohini and killed the demon Bhasmasura. Hence, this cave is an important pilgrimage site as well as a symbol of good over evil.

Moreover, this place is a popular picnic spot too. The best season to visit Dhupgarh is during the monsoon season when the place is enveloped by thin monsoon clouds. It also has a natural rock formation which resembles the hundred-headed snake called Sheshang of Hindu Mythology. The rocks of this cave look like the matted hair of Lord Shiva. Hence, the name Jata Shankar Caves came from the particular shape of the rocks as Jata means hair and Shankar is another name for Lord Shiva. The Jambu Dwip stream originates from the Jata Sankar Caves. It is a place of attraction for picnickers and worshippers alike.
