Lachung Monastery

Surrounded by the beautiful apple orchards of Lachen Valley, Lachung Monastery is an ancient Buddhist monastery. Crafted with splendid architecture, the monastery is situated at an altitude of 2,750 meters near the confluence of the Lachen and Lachung rivers, two of the many tributaries of the Teesta River. The gompa is also the base of the Green Lake trek. The building was established in 1806 by the Nyingmapa sect of Buddhism and shelters a majestic statue of Guru Padmasambhava. A prayer wheel stands near the entrance of the monastery, which takes visitors to the Handloom and Handicraft Centre. Lachung Monastery is one of the most serene places to visit in Lachung.

Mount Katao

Mount Katao is one of the most amazing places imaginable. Perfect for adventure lovers who love skiing, snow tubing, snowboarding and grinding during the winter season, the surreal mountain offers a spectacular view to its visitors.
