Basadi Halli

Basadi Halli (or Jain Temple) is situated between Hoysaleshwara Temple and Kedareshwara Temple. There are three Jain temples in Basadi Halli - Parshvanatha Swamy Temple, Adinath Swami Temple, and Shantinatha Swamy Temple. Parshvanatha Swamy Temple is an important structure with amazing carvings. The 12 pillars of doom have been finely and attractively cut. The pillars are well carved and the images are different from each other. The idol of Parshvanath Swami is made of black stone and its height is 14 feet. The seven-headed serpent carved on the head of this figure appears to be guarding the deity.

Halebidu Belur

Showcasing the finest designs of Hindu temples built under the Hoysala Empire, the Halebid and Belur temples are one of the best Sakleshpur tourist places to visit. These ornate temples provide peace away from the hassles of modern life and also tell some interesting historical stories. The Halebid and Belur temples were designed by renowned architect Jakanna Acharya and carved with many exquisite designs. Hoysaleswara Temple

Hoysaleshwar or Halebid Temple is a 12th century Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated to the west of Dwarasamudra Lake in the small town of Halebid in Karnataka, this magnificent temple is one of the three most historical monuments of the Hoysala Empire and also the most important monument dedicated to Lord Shiva in South India. The designing and decoration of the temple is done by the famous craftsman Kedoraja. Its extremely elaborate walls proudly bear the stories of various deities and brave Hoysala soldiers in the form of beautiful sculptures carved on its walls. It attracts thousands of devotees throughout the year as it is known for its architecture and sculptures from the Hoysala period.

Kedareswara Temple

The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, who is depicted as a black stone Shivalinga of Krishnashila. Built in Chalukya style of architecture, this temple was built in 1319 AD. The basement of the temple has carved friezes which depict Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita. The stunning structure has traditional Hoysala style architecture in soapstone and features fascinating carvings, relief works and sculptures depicting the legends of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.

Shantaleswara Temple

Another splendid creation of the Hoysalas, the Shantaleswara Temple was built in the 12th century as a tribute to Lord Shiva. Located in Halebidu, it is one of the most religious places to visit in Belur, and there are two similar temples inside the complex, known as Shantaleswara and Hoysaleshwar. The temple is named after Queen Shantaladevi, wife of King Vishnuvardhana Hoysala, both of whom are believed to be seated in the temple. One of the most striking features of the temple is that the basic structure of the temple is like a star.
