The Kapilash temple, also known as the Chandrashekhar Temple, is located in the north-eastern part of the city of Dhenkanal in Orissa. The main palace of the temple is 60 feet tall. The temple for Shri Chandrashekhar was established in 1246 AD by King Narasimhadeva of Ganga Dynasty. The temple is surrounded by the Eastern Ghats. Kapilash is quite a sight to behold. Ganesha, Kartikeya, Gangadevi etc. are found in the temple. Patita Pawan Jagannath is placed in the temple as Parsa Dev.

Anantashayana Vishnu or sleeping on the serpent Shesha is a large open-air rock-out image of Hindu lord Vishnu. It is the largest exposed rock-cut structure in the horizontal position measuring 15.4 meters in length in India, while the largest standing one is at Gomateshwara in Southern India. It is a protected monument maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India, Bhubaneswar Circle. Worship is still offered to the four-armed reclining Vishnu. The tourist destination is also considered one of the 7 wonders of Odisha.
