Bibi ka Maqbara

Similar to the Taj Mahal, Bibi Ka Maqbara is a beautiful tomb of Rabia-ul-Daurani Bano Begum, wife of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Bibi Ka Maqbara was built by Aurangzeb in the memory of his wife in 1661. The monument resembles the famous Taj Mahal, as it was the main inspiration for the construction of the design and is often referred to as the Taj of the Deccan. The Bibi Ka Maqbara was intended to rival the Taj Mahal, but due to the decline in architecture and the proportions of the structure, it resulted in a complete imitation of the same. Incidentally, it is one of the largest structures built during the reign of Aurangzeb. The Samadhi is a very popular attraction and the monument offers something beautiful against the backdrop of the mountain ranges.

The second tallest minaret in India - Chand Minar is located at the entrance of the iconic Daulatabad Fort. Chand Minar is a fine example of Ottoman style of architecture. This tower was built by Alauddin Bahmani after conquering the fort in 1435. The tower measures 30 meters (210 ft) in height and 70 feet in circumference at the base. It has 24 chambers, spread over four storeys and a small mosque.

Daulatabad Fort is a fortified citadel located atop a conical hill in Aurangabad, about 200 meters above the sea level. Its strategic location, incredible architecture, and three-layer defense system made it one of the most powerful hill fortresses of the medieval period. This fort was built by the Yadava dynasty in 1187 and was known as Deogiri. Some of the major structures within the fort complex include the Mahakot, which consists of four separate lines of walls with 54 bastions around the fort for a length of about 5 kilometres.

Another attraction of the park is the zoo, where one can find many wild animals like tigers, lions, panthers, civet cats, snakes, crocodiles, emu, fox, deer, hyena etc. There is also an aquarium in Siddharth Garden. Where different types of colorful fish can be seen. It makes for a pleasant place for kids. Other beautiful spots in the garden include a musical fountain and a Buddha statue.
