Important Information
- Flights to Bhutan: Due to Bhutan’s limited international flight options, it is advisable to book your flights early to secure your preferred travel dates. Paro International Airport serves as the primary entry point for international tourists. Direct flights to Paro are available from major cities including Delhi, Kolkata, Kathmandu, Bangkok, and Singapore.
- Pack Wisely: In the Northeastern Region of India, and in Bhutan, the weather can change, so bring layered clothing for different temperatures. Pack sturdy shoes for walking, rain gear, and sun protection. Remember to take any necessary medications and a basic first-aid kit.
- Physical Fitness: The hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang) is a moderately challenging trek involving steep ascents and uneven terrain at high altitude. To make the most of this iconic experience, it’s recommended to begin a light to moderate fitness routine—such as walking, stair climbing, or yoga—a few weeks before your trip. Being reasonably fit will help you enjoy the journey comfortably and soak in the breathtaking views along the way.
