Located almost in the center of the old town of Rajagriha, the ancient site of Maniyar Math can be identified with the name Manimala Chaitya mentioned in the Pali texts of the temple of Mani-Naga referred to in the Mahabharata. The main attraction here is a well-built structure having a 1.2 m thick wall and 3 m diameter. The exterior contains 0.6 m high stucco images of a linga decorated with garlands, Vishnu with four arms, a Nagi image, Ganesha with snakes around his body, and the six-armed dancing Shiva.
