This place holds historical importance as Babasaheb Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, converted to Buddhism at this place. Thousands of pilgrims come here every year and adopt Buddhism. Deekshabhoomi is spread over four acres of land. The architectural type of this monument is 'Stupa' and it is the largest of its kind in the whole of Asia. The stupa is built as a salute in the memory of Babasaheb Ambedkar.
