Matrimandir
Matrimandir, which is the Sanskrit word for 'mother's temple', is the most important building in Auroville township in Pondicherry. Situated right in the middle of Auroville in a large open area known as 'Peace', popularly known as the Golden Globes of Pondicherry, it is a place of personal silent concentration. You can have darshan of Matrimandir from inside. However, the beautiful gold domed structure of Matrimandir surrounded by twelve lush gardens attracts tourists visiting Pondicherry. A view has been constructed to the south of the building which offers a panoramic view of Matrimandir and its surroundings.
Savitri Bhavan
Savitri Bhavan in Auroville is a center dedicated to fostering a vibrant sense of human unity through spiritual education based on the vision and teachings of Sri Aurobindo and Mother. The origin of this system is Aurobindo's mantra epic 'Savitri' and was established to nurture and promote Aurobindo's vision, his work and his life. The building houses a picture gallery, a digital library and a reading room, a hostel for volunteers and hosts workshops, classes, orientations, guest lectures, retreats, etc.
Kala Kendra
Kala Kendra is the center of the arts in Bharat Niwas. It runs the "Gallery Square Circle", an art gallery open to the public that hosts shows throughout the year. and actively encourages artists to exhibit or exhibit their art through shows, exhibitions and workshops. Artists can live and work with the community in Auroville and share knowledge on the subject through their interactive programs.
