The heat can be oppressive and it's not comfortable to walk around.

Please note that Aizawl is a hill station and the roads leading to it may not be in the best condition. Durtlang Hills

Durtlang hills are located to the north of Aizawl and the trek to the top of the hill is very attractive as it offers spectacular views along a steep slope. The view from the top of Durtlang hills is absolutely breathtaking as it offers an overall view of the dramatic countryside with pleasant weather. The view is never the same and varies throughout the day. The glorious mornings and the colorful evenings are both equally pleasant. The cool springs cascading down the slopes and the clouds rolling in towards the hills are a delight for the tourists.

The Solomon Temple is located on the western borders of Aizawl and is a white marble structure completely surrounded by greenery. Spread over 3,025 square meters, the temple has four minarets, each with a crown. The four pillars on the sides are decorated with seven stars of David. The four minarets depict the ideal four qualities for mankind - salvation, righteousness, life and the victorious. The area around the temple has been renamed Kidron Valley after the vast plains adjacent to the Old City of Jerusalem in Israel.

The highest waterfall in the state and the 13th highest waterfall in the country, Vantawang Falls is one of the most mesmerizing waterfalls in the North East. Vantawang Falls is the pride of Mizoram and one of its major attractions. Located 137 km away from the capital Aizawl, the waterfall is a gem in itself. Nestled amidst the lush green valleys surrounding the waterfall, it looks like a river of white milk from afar. People from all directions of the state come to see the strength and beauty of the state. The waterfall can be seen from a distance due to the dense forest all around. It is located near Thenzawl in the Vanava River which is known for its fast flow.

There is also a small village in the Rik Hills where the Mizo people live, which is considered a heritage site. Apart from sightseeing, the hill is also a haven for bird watchers. Rik Talang is an excellent viewpoint overlooking Aizawl and the surrounding valley with a backdrop of scenery borrowed from the Mizo Hills. A trip to the peak is also an excellent trekking opportunity that is usually reserved for calm sunny days. As is the case with most north eastern destinations in India, Reek's summit is also relatively unexplored and sits as beautiful as a pearl in the hills.

Established in 1977, the museum holds a record of 2500 objects, each of which attests to the diverse past and traditional background of Mizoram.
