Experience the thrill of spotting elusive Bengal Tigers in their natural habitat.
Overview & Highlights
This 7-day Central India Wildlife Tour takes you through three of India's most productive tiger reserves: Pench, Kanha, and Bandhavgarh. All three parks sit in Madhya Pradesh and together form the heart of what wildlife experts call the Central India tiger belt. No other region in the country gives you this kind of tiger density across multiple connected reserves within a single trip.
The tour starts in Nagpur, where you fly in and drive directly to Pench National Park. From there you move to Kanha, and then to Bandhavgarh before flying out of Jabalpur. The route is logical, the driving distances between parks are manageable, and every night is spent near a safari gate so you are not wasting morning time on long road transfers before your jeep enters the forest.
You get six private jeep safaris across the three parks, two morning and afternoon sessions at each reserve. All safaris are in the core zone, not the buffer. Core zone safaris follow the best tracks where tiger activity is highest and sightings are most consistent. Every safari is accompanied by a wildlife naturalist who knows these forests, not a general guide who visits once a season. Our naturalists read alarm calls, fresh pug marks, and animal movement to position your jeep in the right place at the right time.
Explore Pench National Park, a lush haven of diverse wildlife and breathtaking landscapes.
Experience Kanha National Park, the inspiration behind The Jungle Book, known for its lush landscapes and diverse wildlife.
Experience the thrill of Bandhavgarh National Park, known for its high tiger density and rich natural beauty.

The park’s varied terrain keeps every drive different, offering both close sightings and quiet moments in the wilderness. Dinner and overnight stay in Pench National Park.
After breakfast at the hotel, leave for Kanha National Park - one of the most well-maintained national parks in Asia. This park was an inspiration behind the popular novel by Rudyard Kipling - The Jungle Book. Bird enthusiasts can spot rare species like the Crested Serpent Eagle, Malabar Pied Hornbill, Red-headed Vulture, and Green Munia. Later, return to the resort for breakfast. In the afternoon, after lunch, set out on an afternoon jeep safari to further increase your chances of spotting the Bengal tiger in its natural habitat. During your afternoon safari, visit Bamni Dadar, also known as Sunset Point, a major attraction inside the park. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort in Kanha National Park.

Bandhavgarh has one of the highest tiger densities of any national park in India, and morning safaris here produce consistent sightings. Kanha and Pench also have resident tiger populations with regular sighting activity. With six private jeep safaris spread across three parks, your overall probability of a tiger sighting on this circuit is significantly higher than a single-park itinerary. However, wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed as animals move freely across large territories.
This tour operates between October and June. March to May is the most productive period for tiger sightings across all three parks as the dry season forces wildlife to congregate around water sources, making them easier to locate. October to February offers cooler temperatures and comfortable safari conditions. June is the last month before the monsoon closes park access.
The tour includes six private jeep safaris in total, two at each of the three parks. All safaris are conducted in a private jeep exclusively for you, your family, or your private group, accompanied by a wildlife naturalist. You are not sharing the vehicle with other travelers.
Yes. The tour is structured to give first-time safari travelers the best possible introduction to Indian wildlife without requiring prior safari experience. The naturalists accompanying each safari guide you on reading animal behaviour, tracking, and positioning for sightings. The itinerary is paced with rest time between parks to avoid fatigue from back-to-back travel days.
Yes. Additional safaris can be arranged at any of the national parks listed in this tour. Safari permits and core zone allocations are issued by the forest department in limited numbers, so we recommend asking your dedicated tour manager to book those additional safaris at least 90 days in advance. Safaris are subject to availability at the time of booking.
To customize the itinerary, add or remove any destinations or national parks in India, or to upgrade accommodation category, contact Alkof Holidays with your travel dates and group size and we will plan accordingly.

Know Before Your Go
Why This Circuit: Bandhavgarh, Kanha, and Pench Together
Most first-time visitors to Central India book a single national park. It is a reasonable starting point, but it comes with a problem that only becomes clear after the trip: wildlife movement is unpredictable, and concentrating all your safari time in one park means you have no fallback if that park has a quiet few days.
Tigers are territorial but they are not predictable on a daily basis. A tigress with cubs may move her litter deeper into the forest for several days. A dominant male may shift territory following a confrontation. A sudden change in temperature or prey movement can pull tigers away from the zones your jeep is permitted to enter. None of this is unusual. It happens across every national park in India throughout the season.
When you spread six safaris across three parks, you are not just seeing more forest. You are building redundancy into your sighting probability. A quiet morning at Pench does not define your trip because Kanha and Bandhavgarh are still ahead. If Kanha produces no tiger on day four, Bandhavgarh, which has the most consistent sighting record of the three, closes the circuit.
The three parks also do not repeat each other. Pench is dense teak forest with riverine corridors. Kanha is open grassland and sal woodland. Bandhavgarh is a mix of sal forest, bamboo, and open plateau. A tiger sighting in Pench looks and feels completely different from a sighting in the Kanha meadow or on the Bandhavgarh plateau. Guests who have done all three consistently say the contrast between parks is one of the most memorable parts of the trip, not just the sightings themselves.
Doing a single park gives you two safaris over one or two days. This three-park circuit gives you six safaris across seven days in three distinct ecosystems. The difference in what you come home with, in sightings, in understanding of how these forests work, and in the overall experience, is not proportional. It is categorical.
What You Will See
Bandhavgarh has the highest tiger density of any national park in Central India. The core zone here is compact, which means your jeep covers productive territory quickly. Tigers in Bandhavgarh are well-habituated to safari vehicles. They walk through clearings, sit near water, and cross open ground in full view. If you are going to see a Bengal tiger on this circuit, Bandhavgarh is where it is most likely to happen.
Kanha is the park that Rudyard Kipling drew on for The Jungle Book. The open Kanha meadow at first light, with spotted deer grazing and a gaur herd moving through the sal trees, is the kind of scene most people only expect to see in a documentary. Kanha is also the only place in the world where you can see the hard-ground barasingha, a species of swamp deer that was nearly wiped out and brought back through one of India's most successful conservation programs.
Pench is where the trip begins and it sets the tone for everything that follows. Teak forest, open river valleys, and a high density of herbivores make Pench ideal for tracking. Tigers here are territorial and active. Leopard sightings are common. Dhole, the Indian wild dog, hunts in packs through these forests and a dhole chase is one of the most dramatic things you can witness on a Central India safari.
Beyond tigers, across all three parks you have real chances of seeing sloth bears, leopards, Indian gaur, jackals, wild boar, and a wide range of birds including the crested serpent eagle, Indian roller, racket-tailed drongo, and various species of kingfisher.
Best Time to Visit
This tour runs from October to mid-June. The best months for tiger sightings are May and early June. By this point in the season, the waterholes inside the core zones start drying up. Tigers come out in the open to drink and rest near these water sources during the day, which means sightings are longer, closer, and more frequent than at any other time of year. March and April are also very good months, with comfortable morning temperatures and active tiger movement across all three parks.
If you prefer cooler weather and do not mind slightly lower odds on tiger sightings compared to peak summer, October to February is a good window. The forest is green after the monsoon, temperatures are pleasant, and bird activity is at its highest.
From July to September, the core zone safaris remains closed in Bandhavgarh, Kanha, and Pench National Park, as because of monsoon season and breeding time of the wildlife there.
How the Trip is Structured
Every detail on this tour is handled before you arrive. Safari permits for core zones need to be booked well in advance as the forest department issues a limited number of slots each day. We book those permits, arrange your stays near the correct safari gates, assign the same private vehicle and driver for the full trip, and stay reachable throughout by phone and WhatsApp in case anything needs adjusting on the ground. You focus on the forest. We handle everything else.
