Your journey to the Sundarbans begins with a pickup from your hotel in Kolkata, followed by a scenic drive to Godkhali, the last road-accessible point before waterways take over. The 3.5-hour journey includes a washroom break, ensuring a comfortable ride. Guests opting for pickup from Science City will start at 9:00 AM. Upon arrival at Godkhali by noon, we determine the best route for the day—either crossing Gosaba Island by auto-rickshaw or taking a direct engine boat to the resort. Both options provide a chance to experience local life and stunning landscapes before reaching your destination.
Once at the resort, take time to settle in before embarking on a guided village walk through lush paddy fields. Meet honey collectors and fishermen, observe local customs, and experience the warmth of village hospitality. Later, enjoy a scenic country boat ride designed for birdwatching, where you may spot kingfishers, Brahminy eagles, egrets, herons, and cormorants while exploring the fascinating mangrove ecosystem. - The jungle route is determined by the Sundarbans Tiger Reserve, and our designated path may change based on their decisions during tiger conservation periods, census activities, or other ecological measures. Since 2023, every Tuesday, the Dobanki and Sajnekhali watchtowers remain closed, so on those days, we will follow the Jhorkhali route instead.
- To secure your permit, we require a clear photo of the traveler's passport, as mandated by the forest department.
- For easy communication on the go, consider downloading WhatsApp, as it is widely used in India.
- Transportation is provided according to the itinerary only and is not available on a disposal or point-to-point basis.
- Any costs arising from natural calamities such as landslides, road blockages, political disturbances (e.g., strikes), etc., are to be borne by the client. We will not be held liable for any refunds or compensation claims resulting from these circumstances.
- India VISA: In most cases, you'll need a visa to visit India. Exceptions include Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders and citizens of a few select countries with visa-free agreements. For more information, please check https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html.
Payment Terms
A deposit of 20% is required to confirm this tour, and the remaining balance will be charged 60 days prior tour starting date. For any bookings within 60 days of departure, the full tour amount will be charged upon booking. This can be paid through bank transfer, credit/debit card, or cash.
Cancellation
If you cancel at least 60 days before the scheduled departure date, a 10% cancellation fee will apply to the total cost of the tour, plus any fees incurred for the cancellation of safaris. Kindly read complete details at Cancellation Policy.
