Upon arrival at Srinagar Airport, an Alkof Holidays representative will welcome you and transfer you to a deluxe houseboat on Dal Lake. After check-in, take some time to rest and enjoy the serene surroundings. Later, head out to explore Srinagar, starting with a visit to the Shankaracharya Temple, perched on a hilltop offering panoramic views of the city and Dal Lake. Continue to the iconic Mughal Gardens, including Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh, where you can stroll through the lush greenery and admire the beautiful landscaping. End the day with a peaceful Shikara ride on Dal Lake, gliding past floating gardens and houseboats. Return to your houseboat for a relaxing evening and a traditional Kashmiri dinner.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Kargil, covering 204 kilometers, with a journey that takes you through the enchanting landscapes of Sonamarg. Situated at an altitude of 9,000 feet, Sonamarg, known as the "Meadow of Gold," offers a stunning backdrop of snow-capped mountains against a vibrant blue sky. Take a break here to capture the breathtaking views or enjoy a cup of tea. For those interested, an optional visit to the year-round Thajwas Glacier on ponies can be arranged at your own cost. Continue your journey towards Kargil, crossing the challenging Zojila Pass. En route, stop at Drass, the second coldest inhabited place in the world, where you can enjoy a warm cup of tea and visit the War Memorial Hall and Museum, also known as Vijaypath. This memorial honors the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War. Afterward, drive along the serene Drass River until you reach Kargil. Check in at your hotel for an overnight stay in Kargil.

After breakfast, set off on an unforgettable journey to Leh, with captivating stops along the way. First, witness the awe-inspiring confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers, where the two rivers merge in a breathtaking display of nature's beauty. Experience the mysterious phenomenon of Magnetic Hill, where your vehicle seemingly defies gravity. Along the route, visit the revered Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, a sacred site that exudes peace and spirituality. You'll also stop at the Kali Mata Temple, nestled amidst the rugged mountains, offering both serenity and stunning views. Arrive in Leh by evening, where you can unwind and absorb the tranquil atmosphere of this high-altitude city. The rest of the day is yours to relax and acclimatize to the serene surroundings. Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.

This morning is yours to relax and enjoy the serene beauty of Leh at your leisure. After lunch, embark on an afternoon of exploration, beginning with a visit to the historic Leh Palace. Built in the early 17th century by King Singay Namgyal, this nine-storied palace offers a glimpse into Ladakh’s royal past, with its commanding views and rich history. Next, visit the Shanti Stupa, a striking Japanese Peace Pagoda perched atop a hill in Changspa village. Built by a Japanese Buddhist organization under the guidance of Head Monk Nakamura, the stupa provides a bird's-eye view of Leh town and the surrounding snow-capped peaks—a perfect spot for meditation and reflection.

Continue your tour with a visit to the Hall of Fame, a museum constructed by the Indian Army. Here, you'll discover poignant exhibits featuring war memorabilia, biographies of eminent defense personalities, and artifacts from the Kargil War, including the belongings of enemy soldiers. For those interested, an evening visit to the light and sound show at the Hall of Fame can be arranged (extra charges apply). After an enriching day of sightseeing, return to your hotel in Leh for a restful overnight stay.

After breakfast at the hotel, set off on a mesmerizing drive to Nubra Valley, also known as Ldumra or the Valley of Flowers. Located north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas, this stunning valley sits at an average altitude of 10,000 feet. On the way, cross Khardungla Pass, the highest motorable pass in the world at 18,360 feet. Enjoy breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and majestic mountains, and drive over a bridge built on a glacier, a feat that earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. Upon arrival in Nubra Valley, check in at the camp for an overnight stay.

After breakfast at the camp, visit the stunning silver sand dunes of Hunder. Situated at an altitude of 10,000 feet, Hunder is a picturesque village where the Shyok River meets the Nubra River. Enjoy a camel safari on double-humped camels, reminiscent of the ancient Silk Route trade, unique to Nubra Valley. Next, explore Diskit Monastery, the oldest in the area, perched on a hilltop offering breathtaking views of the entire valley. The colossal Buddha statue here is awe-inspiring and draws thousands of visitors. Take a leisurely stroll through the small village market in Diskit to get a glimpse of local life. Later, drive back to Leh via Khardung-La Pass. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel for an overnight stay.

Early in the morning, take your packed breakfast from the hotel and set off for Pangong TSO Lake, the world's highest saltwater lake at an elevation of 4,350 meters. The lake's brilliant blue waters contrast sharply with the surrounding arid mountains. Stretching over 160 kilometers, one-third of Pangong Lake lies in India, with the other two-thirds in China. On the way, visit Shey Palace, the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh. Next, explore Thiksey Monastery, perched on a hill and offering breathtaking views of the Indus Valley. Continue your journey to Changla Pass, at 5,486 meters, famous for quick photo ops. Then, drive down to the village of Tangtse for a relaxing tea break. Finally, proceed to Pangong TSO Lake. Upon arrival, check in at your camp. If time allows, take a stroll by the lake. Overnight stay at the camp.

After breakfast at the camp, spend the morning exploring the beautiful Pangong Lake and its surroundings. In the afternoon, drive back to Leh. On the way, visit Hemis Gompa, located 45 km from Leh. This monastery was re-established in 1672 by King Sengge Namgyal and hosts the annual Hemis festival in early June to honor Padmasambhava. Upon arrival in Leh, check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore the local market for some shopping. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Today, after an early breakfast, check out from the hotel and embark on an exhilarating journey to Sarchu. Your adventure begins as you drive along the breathtaking Tanglang La Pass, standing tall at 17,585 feet, the world’s second-highest motorable road. The views from this altitude are nothing short of spectacular, offering a panoramic sweep of the rugged Himalayan terrain. En route, pause at Pang for a hearty lunch, taking in the serene surroundings before continuing your drive.

Next, ascend the Lachungla Pass, soaring at an impressive 5,065 meters, where the dramatic landscapes and crisp mountain air create a truly unforgettable experience. As you descend into the plains of Sarchu, the scenery transforms into a stark yet stunning high-altitude desert. Upon arrival in Sarchu, check into your deluxe camp, where you'll be greeted with warm hospitality. As the day winds down, enjoy a delicious dinner under the starry Himalayan sky, followed by a peaceful overnight stay in your comfortable camp, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the mountains.

Today, embark on a scenic journey to Manali, a picturesque town nestled in the heart of the enchanting Kullu Valley. Your route will take you through the breathtaking Baralacha Pass, standing at 4,890 meters, and the charming town of Keylong at 3,350 meters. Marvel at the awe-inspiring landscapes as you drive through the iconic Atal Tunnel, one of the world's longest tunnels at this altitude. As you approach Manali, the lush green valley unfolds before you, with the Beas River meandering gracefully through it. Known as Kulanthpitha, meaning "the end of the habitable world," Kullu Valley is a place of mesmerizing beauty, where towering mountains frame the horizon and the valley stretches 80 kilometers long and about 2 kilometers wide. Upon arrival in Manali, you will be transferred to your hotel, where a warm dinner awaits. After a delightful meal, relax and unwind with an overnight stay in the comfort of your hotel, surrounded by the serene beauty of this charming hill station.

Start your day in Manali with a hearty breakfast at your hotel before heading out to explore the town’s highlights. Begin with a visit to the Hadimba Temple, surrounded by lush cedar forests and known for its unique pagoda-style architecture. Then, stroll along Mall Road, where you can shop for local crafts and enjoy some local cuisine. After lunch, visit the Manali Nature Park for a relaxing walk through beautifully landscaped gardens and lush greenery. In the late afternoon, unwind at the Vashisht Hot Springs, where you can soak in natural thermal waters believed to have therapeutic properties. Return to your hotel and spend your evening at leisure, perhaps exploring more of Mall Road or enjoying a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay at the hotel in Manali.

After breakfast, your driver will take you to Chandigarh Airport for your flight to New Delhi. From New Delhi, board your International flight home.

Both the guide and driver were highly professional, and the guide's knowledge was impressive. However, I would like to suggest a small improvement: crossing the Changla Pass twice was a bit inconvenient. It would have been more efficient to travel directly from Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake, crossing the Changla Pass only once.

Going to Ladakh was a very special experience

Going to Ladakh was a very special experience and I would recommend this tour hi... Going to Ladakh was a very special experience and I would recommend this tour highly. The landscape was absolutely spectacular and the blend of history, culture and geostrategic importance was fascinating. My tour with Alkof Holidays was very well organised. I requested an extra day be added to my trip and they organised a day of visits to Hemis and Thiksey Monasteries and Shey Palace. My guide Riyaz was fantastic, very kind and provided me with lots of insights about the region. There are too many highlights to list but the top of the list would be Pangong Lake.
