After morning pickup from your hotel around 8:00 AM, we will proceed to the Gateway of India, a colonial-era monument overlooking the harbour. From here, board a ferry for a 1-hour ride to Elephanta Island, home to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Elephanta Caves. Explore the ancient cave temples, dating back to the 5th century, adorned with intricate carvings and statues honouring the Hindu god Shiva. After touring the caves, return to Mumbai by ferry around 12:45 to 1:00 PM. Upon your return, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant (at your own cost).
Post lunch, proceed with your Mumbai city tour. Visit the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (Victoria Terminus), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a historic railway station with stunning architecture. Next, stop by Mahalaxmi Dhobi Ghat, the world’s largest open-air laundry (outside top-view). Then, visit the Prince of Wales Museum (closed Mondays), showcasing fascinating artefacts.
Continue to the Hanging Gardens (Pherozeshah Mehta Gardens) on Malabar Hill, where you can enjoy panoramic views of South Mumbai.
