Upon your arrival at Coimbatore Airport, an Alkof Holidays representative will greet you and transfer you to Ooty, often referred to as the Queen of Hill Stations. Enjoy a scenic drive through the lush landscapes of the Nilgiris. Upon reaching Ooty, check in at your hotel and unwind. Later in the afternoon, visit Doddabetta Peak, the highest point in the Nilgiris and the fourth highest peak in South India. From this vantage point, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, embark on a scenic drive to Mudumalai National Park, navigating the picturesque and winding Kalhatty Road with its 36 hairpin bends. Along the way, visit Ooty Lake for a tranquil boat ride and explore the Botanical Gardens, sprawling across 55 acres and featuring distinct sections such as the Fern House, Lower Garden, Italian Garden, Conservatory, and Nurseries. After breakfast at the hotel, spend the day exploring the enchanting hills of Munnar, known for its lush tea plantations and scenic beauty. Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams—Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundale—Munnar offers picturesque views and a serene environment. In the afternoon, embark on a sightseeing tour of Periyar National Park, also known as Periyar Tiger Reserve. This lush, evergreen forest in the Western Ghats was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978 and is celebrated for its diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. The sanctuary is home to tigers, elephants, lion-tailed macaques, sambar deer, leopards, and Indian bison. It remains open throughout the monsoon season, offering year-round wildlife experiences. Optional activities include boating on Periyar Lake and an elephant ride, available at an extra cost. Additionally, visit the spice plantations in Kumily, a picturesque town near Thekkady known for its aromatic spice gardens. Return to your resort for an overnight stay.
After breakfast at the resort, set off for Kumarakom, a serene town renowned for its picturesque backwaters. Upon arrival, check in at your resort and take some time to unwind. Later, explore the local sights of Kumarakom, a charming village nestled along the western banks of Vembanadu Lake. Visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, a haven for migratory and resident birds, and enjoy the tranquil Kumarakom Beach & Backwaters, where you can soak in the natural beauty of the area. Additionally, explore the Bay Island Driftwood Museum, which showcases unique driftwood sculptures. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing at your resort. Overnight stay at the resort.
After breakfast at the resort, embark on a drive to Alappuzha (also known as Alleppey), celebrated for its scenic backwater cruises. On arrival, board your traditionally decorated houseboat around 1:00 PM and set off on an enchanting overnight cruise. As you glide through the serene backwaters, enjoy a leisurely lunch on board while taking in views of Chinese fishing nets, lush paddy fields, and traditional coir-making. The tranquil waterways are framed by rustic homes, ancient temples, and verdant coconut groves. Spend your evening relaxing on the houseboat or exploring the local market in Alappuzha. Overnight stay aboard the houseboat, drifting through the beautiful backwaters.
Enjoy a final breakfast aboard the houseboat before an Alkof Holidays representative transfers you to Cochin Airport. From there, you'll catch your flight home or to your next destination.
