Spend the day exploring the beauty of Srinagar, starting with a visit to the famous Mughal Gardens, including Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, and Chashme Shahi. These gardens, with their meticulously manicured lawns, cascading fountains, and stunning flowerbeds, are perfect examples of Mughal horticulture. Continue your journey with a visit to the Shankaracharya Temple, perched on a hilltop overlooking the city, offering panoramic views of the Dal Lake and the surrounding mountains. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely Shikara ride on Dal Lake, gliding through the serene waters and taking in the unique sights of floating gardens, houseboats, and the vibrant life on the lake. Conclude your day with a stroll through the bustling local markets, where you can shop for traditional Kashmiri handicrafts, Pashmina shawls, and exquisite jewelry. Return to your hotel in the evening for an overnight stay.
After a delightful breakfast, set out for a day trip to Sonamarg, famously known as "The Meadows of Gold." The journey takes you through picturesque countryside, offering breathtaking views of rolling hills, lush green forests, clear streams, blooming rice fields, and majestic mountains. Sonamarg is a paradise for trekkers and the gateway to numerous treks, boasting spectacular skies, snowy peaks, and beautiful alpine forests. The golden light reflecting off the snow-capped mountains as the sun’s rays hit them is truly mesmerizing. For a touch of adventure, you can opt for a pony ride to the Thajiwas Glacier (at your own cost) to enjoy the snow. In the evening, return to Srinagar for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Start your day with a delicious breakfast before heading to Pahalgam, famously known as "The Valley of Shepherds." Along the way, you'll pass through vibrant saffron fields and visit the ancient Awantipura ruins, an 1100-year-old temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, built by King Awantivarman.
