On the day of arrival at Paro International Airport, our representative will welcome you at the airport, who will be your tour guide during your entire trip in Bhutan. Later he will transfer you to Thimphu, the capital town of Bhutan. Upon arrival at Thimphu, check-in to the hotel. Rest and relax at the hotel, later visit the National Memorial Chorten, a revered stupa built in honor of the Third Druk Gyalpo, followed by the magnificent Tashichhoedzong, a fortress-monastery that houses the government offices and the King's throne room. In the evening, return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Thimphu.
Today is a full day dedicated to exploring the vibrant city of Thimphu. Your day begins with a visit to Buddha Point, where the massive Buddha Dordenma statue offers breathtaking panoramic views of the entire Thimphu Valley. Next, you will visit the Takin Zoo, a unique wildlife reserve that is home to Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin. The tour continues with a visit to Simply Bhutan, a living museum, and the National Library, which houses a vast collection of ancient Buddhist texts. You will also have some time to explore the Crafts Bazaar, where you can find a wide variety of authentic Bhutanese handicrafts. In the evening, return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast, you will check out and begin your scenic drive to Punakha. The journey will take you over the spectacular Dochula Pass, a mountain pass adorned with 108 memorial chortens, offering panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges on a clear day. The drive from Thimphu to Punakha takes approximately 3 hours. Upon arrival, you will visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, a fortress strategically situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. You will also walk to the famous Suspension Bridge, which provides a spectacular view of the river and the surrounding valley. In the evening, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel in Punakha.
Today is a full day of travel to the central valley of Bumthang, passing through the scenic Trongsa district. The drive from Punakha to Bumthang covers approximately 220 km and takes around 7 hours. En route, you will stop at Trongsa to visit the Trongsa Taa Dzong (Watchtower), now a fascinating museum, and the majestic Trongsa Dzong, a massive fortress and an important symbol of Bhutanese history. Afterward, continue your journey to Bumthang, where you will have dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.
Today is dedicated to exploring the spiritual heartland of Bhutan, the Bumthang Valley. Your tour will include visits to several ancient and sacred sites, including Jambay Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan; Kurjey Lhakhang, a monastery where the body of Guru Rinpoche is enshrined; and Tamshing Lhakhang, renowned for its unique wall paintings. You will also visit the sacred Mebar Tsho (Burning Lake), a revered pilgrimage site. In the evening, return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Bumthang.
After breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Trongsa, passing through the scenic Ura Sheltangla Pass. Upon arrival in Trongsa, the rest of the day will be at your leisure. In the evening, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel in Trongsa.
Today is another long travel day as you drive from Trongsa back towards western Bhutan, with a stop in Gangtey. The journey covers approximately 220 km and takes around 7 hours. In Gangtey, you will visit the impressive Gangtey Goenba, an important monastery overlooking the beautiful Phobjikha Valley. You will also enjoy a walk along the Gangtey Nature Trail and visit the Black-Necked Crane Centre (seasonal). Afterward, continue your drive to Punakha, where you will have dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.
After breakfast, you will begin your final scenic drive to Paro. En route, you will stop to visit Simtokha Dzong, one of the oldest dzongs in Bhutan, and Tamchog Lhakhang, a private temple built in the 14th century. Upon arrival in Paro, explore Paro Dzong, a splendid example of Bhutanese architecture, and the Taa Dzong, a former watchtower that now houses the National Museum of Bhutan. In the evening, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel in Paro.
Today is dedicated to a hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, famously known as the "Tiger's Nest." This full-day trek takes approximately 5 to 7 hours round-trip, depending on your pace. Perched dramatically on a cliff face 900 meters above the valley floor, the monastery is a site of immense spiritual significance and one of Bhutan’s most revered landmarks. After the hike, return to your hotel for a well-deserved dinner and your final overnight stay in Paro.
