Later he will transfer you to Thimphu, the capital town of Bhutan. Upon arrival at Thimphu, check-in to the hotel. Rest and relax at the hotel, later visit the National Memorial Chorten, a revered stupa built in honor of the Third Druk Gyalpo, followed by the magnificent Tashichhoedzong, a fortress-monastery that houses the government offices and the King's throne room. In the evening, return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Thimphu.

Today is a full day dedicated to exploring the vibrant city of Thimphu. Your day begins with a visit to Buddha Point, where the massive Buddha Dordenma statue offers breathtaking panoramic views of the entire Thimphu Valley. Next, you will visit the Takin Zoo, a unique wildlife reserve that is home to Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin. After breakfast, you will check out and begin your scenic drive to Punakha. The journey will take you over the spectacular Dochula Pass, a mountain pass adorned with 108 memorial chortens, offering panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges on a clear day. The drive from Thimphu to Punakha takes approximately 3 hours. Upon arrival, you will visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, a fortress strategically situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. You will also walk to the famous Suspension Bridge, which provides a spectacular view of the river and the surrounding valley. Our family had a customized tour that included all three national parks for tiger safaris as well as the traditional golden triangle tour. We had 2 different drivers during the tour that picked us up at the airport or drove us to the next location. The drivers were always early, extremely friendly and helpful, and the cars were immaculate. We stayed at six different hotels that were picked out for us. They were all very nice and I would stay at them again. The guides at each location were very knowledgeable and friendly. The company itself stayed in contact with me throughout the trip to make sure I did not need anything. I would highly recommend this company. This tour was much more flexible and convenient than participating in a group tour where everyone has to keep up with a group pace.
