Stay – Kochi

On the day of arrival at Cochin airport, Alkof Holidays representative will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. Rest and relax at the hotel, later visit Fort Kochi, Marine Drive, St.Francis Church, and Santa Cruz Basilica. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Stay – Kochi

The very first day of Onam festival (the ten days festival) starts with the Athachamayam festival – the celebration of the victory of the Kochi King. After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Thripunithura to witness Athachamayam Festival, a festival which itself has replete all the folk art forms and dance forms of Kerala. The major attraction of the festival is the well-crafted makeup of the artists, which is quite adorable to watch. Post lunch, thrill yourself with a boat race at Champakara village. Later, visit a local Church to enjoy the Flower carpet competition. In the evening, drive back to the hotel in Kochi for overnight stay.

Stay – Munnar

After breakfast at the hotel, leave for Munnar. On the way to Munnar, visit Kodanad Elephant Care Centre, Cheeyappara Waterfalls, Valara Waterfalls, Attukal Waterfalls, Spice Plantations etc. Upon arrival at Munnar, check–in at your hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Stay – Munnar

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Munnar – the most scenic hill station of South India nestled in tea estates. Visit Mattupetty Dam, Pothamedu, Devikulam, Pallivasal, Chithirapuram, Rajamala Hills and Eravikulam National Park. In the evening, enjoy a walk at the Tea Estate. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Stay – Madurai

After breakfast at the hotel, we will leave for Madurai – the temple town of the Tamil Nadu. Madurai is also known as “Thoonga Nagaram”, the city which never sleeps. Upon arrival at Madurai, check–in to the hotel. Rest and relax at the hotel, later visit the most famous temple of India – Meenakshi temple, located on the banks of Vaigai River. Also visit Tirumalai Palace, another emblem of imposing inwrought with tall white balusters. Later in the evening, explore local market for shopping. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Stay – Pollachi

After breakfast at the hotel, we will leave for Pollachi. Upon arrival, check–in at the hotel. Rest and relax at the hotel, later visit the mesmerizing areas of Koolangal river and other attractions nearby. Koolangal river has lots to offer to you regarding tourist destination. You can enjoy a bath in the clear water of river with pebble stone bottom surrounded by the greenish environment. A nice place to spend some quality time in the lap of nature enjoying the beauty of the tea plantations far from the busy and noisy city life. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Stay – Coonoor

After breakfast at the hotel, we will leave for Coonoor. En–route visit the village life, wildlife, and tea plantations. Upon arrival at Coonoor, check–in at the hotel Rest and relax at the hotel, later visit Catherine Falls, Hidden Canyons, Dolphin’s Nose Point, Sim’s park, and the Lamb’s rock. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Stay – Wayanad

After breakfast at the hotel, leave for Ooty by special toy train. The train ride will be a scenic journey passing through the Nilgiri mountains offering the spectacular views. Ooty also named as the “Queen Of The Hills” because of its rich surrounding. The hill station offers itself spellbinding panorama, astounding tea gardens, and eucalyptus trees along with stunning mountains surroundings. From the breathtaking tour of Ooty, drive further to Wayanad – one of the most beautiful hill station and best eco–tourism destinations in Kerala. Upon arrival at Wayanad, check–in at the resort. Overnight stay at the resort.

Stay – Wayanad

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for an escorted tour of Wayanad. Visit popular attractions, like; Chembra Peak, Banasura Sagar Dam, Kuruvadweep, Pookode Lake, Soochipara Waterfalls. Also enjoy some activities like boating in Pookode Lake, and trekking across Chembra Peak – the best place where you can explore your passion to trek along the tallest of the Wayanad hills that is at a height of 6,900 feet. In the evening, drive back to your resort for night stay.

Stay – Kozhikode

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Kozhikode. En–route visit Sargaalaya Crafts village to enjoy more than 800 years old temple ritual dance form – Theyyam, means itself “the dance of god”. Theyyam is all about to make life thriving and recapture all perils. After enjoying Theyyam, visit Kalaripayattu School at Kozhikode to be a spectator to the ancient martial art of Kerala. Kalaripayattu considered as the mother of all the martial art forms. Kalaripayattu is a little bit a mixture of dance and defense. It is warfare with the peerless rhythmical feel that makes you forget that what you were watching is once a route to a fight. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kozhikode.

Stay – Kochi

After breakfast at the hotel, drive back to Cochin. Upon arrival, check–in at the hotel. Rest and relax at the hotel, later visit one of the theaters where you will get to see the classical dances of South India, i.e. Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathakali and Mohiniaattam. Classical dances are the best way to delineate stories by facial expressions and hand signs. Everything is charming in classical dance whether it’s costume, makeup, music, dance, and jewellery. Dancers worship the classical dance from decades to perform on stage with the perfection. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Stay – Kochi

Today is the day for Thiruvonam. First, visit Vamana Moorthy temple in Thrikkakara village to see the Pooram celebration. Thrikkakara village itself has the holy importance. Rest of the day at leisure. In the evening, be a spectator to the preparation of Pulikali & the other folk artists. Enjoy Onam festival procession – one of the most valued harvest festivals celebrated in Kerala. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Stay – Thrissur

After breakfast at the hotel, leave for Thrissur – the cultural capital of Kerala. Upon arrival, check–in at the hotel. Rest and relax at the hotel, later observe the festival procession including Kummatikali and Pulikkali in Chembookavu and Olarikkara. It will be a huge procession therefore it will include the artists as Mahabali, Krishna and other Hindu mythological figures. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Stay – Thrissur

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to visit few museums in Thrissur to spend some quality times there. Later, enjoy Kummattikali procession in Kizhkenpattukara area of the town. Kummattikali – the colorful mask dance is the traditional dance done to pamper the Godness where dancers wear a colorful mask and embellish dress. Later in the evening, proceed for an excursion trip to Shornur for Tholpavakoothu Shadow Puppet Show. Tholpavakoothu is a unique folk art form of Kerala that represents stories in front of the viewers. The stories are mostly from the Hindu mythologies such as Ramayana. Overnight stay at the hotel.

The Kerala Onam festival trip ends today. After breakfast at the hotel in Thrissur, Alkof Holidays representative will transfer you to the Cochin Airport to board the flight to your home or onward destination.
