Day-to-Day ITINERARY

Stay – Delhi

On the day of arrival at the New Delhi airport, Alkof Holidays representative will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Stay – Delhi

After breakfast, proceed for a full day escorted tour of Delhi. Start your sightseeing from New Delhi, visit Rashtrapati Bhavan, India Gate, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Humayun’s Tomb, Lotus Temple (Bahai Temple) and Qutub Minar.


Later in the afternoon, proceed to Old Delhi sightseeing tour, visit Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid and Red Fort also take a short rickshaw ride at the Chandni Chowk (A huge market of spices and clothes). Overnight stay at the hotel.

Stay – Sivasagar

Ater breakfast at the hotel, Alkof Holidays representative will transfer you to New Delhi airport to board the flight to Dibrugarh. Upon arrival at Dibrugarh airport our representative will welcome you and transfer you to Sivasagar. Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel, rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Stay – Sivasagar

Ater breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a full day excursion to Charaideo – the first capital of the Ahom kingdom established by the first Ahom king Chao Lung Siu-Ka-Pha in 1228. It is about 30 km from Sivasagar. It contains sacred burial grounds of Ahom kings and queens and is also the place of ancestral Gods of the Ahoms. The Ahom kings and Queens were buried after extensive and long royal burial rituals. The tombs (Maidams) of Ahom kings and queens at Charaideo hillocks are comparable to the Pyramids of Egypt and are objects of wonder revealing the excellent architecture and skill of the sculptors and masons of Assam of the medieval days. After that visit Gargaon Palace (The principal town of the Ahom Kings, constructed by the 15th Ahom King Suklemnung in 1540. The palace lies 13 km east of Sivasagar. The present seven-storied palace was built by King Rajeshwar Singha in about 1762).


Later return to Sivasagar to visit Rang Ghar (This amphitheatre - built by King Pramatta Singha. This two storeyed oval shaped pavilion is one of the largest of its kind) and Kareng Ghar & Talatal Ghar (Of all Ahom ruins, it is one of the grandest examples of Tai Ahom architecture. The Talatal Ghar is also the largest of all Tai Ahom monuments). In the evening, drive back to the hotel for night stay.

Stay – Jorhat

After breakfast, leave for Jorhat, also known as the tea capital of India. Upon arrival at Jorhat, check into the hotel. Rest and relax at the hotel and In the evening, take a walk around Garh Ali, the main commercial hub of Jorhat town, later visit the Jorhat Gymkhana club, which was built in 1876 by D. Slimmon. The club holds a lush green 9-hole golf course listed in the "World Heritage Sites" as the oldest golf course in Asia. The club is also famous for horse races and also offers other facilities like lawn tennis grass courts, swimming pool, billiards, polo, gentleman's bar and cinema theater. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Stay – Majuli

Ater breakfast, proceed to Majuli. We will reach Nimati Ghat and take a ferry to Majuli. After approximately one and half hours of sailing, and crossing mighty Brahmaputra, you arrive at Majuli Island, the biggest River Island in the world and seat of Vaisnavite monasteries. Upon arrival, check-in at the lodge, later pay a visit to Satras, the birth place of Vaisnavite culture, enjoy the musical art of the Vaishnava Satras in Majuli, also visit the nearby tribal villages. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Stay – Kaziranga National Park

Ater breakfast, take your ferry back to Nimati Ghat. Upon arrival, proceed to Kaziranga National Park via Jorhat. Upon arrival at Kaziranga National Park, check-in at the jungle lodge. Rest and relax at the lodge, later in the afternoon proceed for a jeep safari inside the park. Later in the evening return to your lodge for overnight stay.

Stay – Kaziranga National Park

Early in the morning, enjoy an elephant safari in the western range of the national park. The main attraction of this wildlife park, includes one-horned Rhinoceros, tiger, wild buffalo, elephant, a variety of deer, python, and variety of migratory birds among others. Also spend some quality time at the Donga view point, situated in western zone. After Elephant Safari, drive back to the lodge for refreshment. In the afternoon, enjoy a jeep safari inside the Kaziranga national park for wildlife viewing in the central zone. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Stay – Tezpur

After breakfast, check-out from the lodge and drive to Tezpur. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Rest and relax at the hotel, later proceed a local sightseeing tour of Tezpur, also known, as ‘The City of Blood’. Tezpur, is a place known for it's mythology, legend and folklore. It is situated on the northern bank of River Brahmaputra and it is also blessed with magnificent scenic beauty and exquisite archaeological ruins. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Stay – Manas National Park

After breakfast at the hotel, drive down to Manas National Park (Bordering with Bhutan, Manas National Park is the only Tiger Reserve in Assam). It has a wealth of wildlife and is picturesque. Twenty species of birds (including the rare Bengal florican) and animals that figure in the highly endangered list of IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources) red data book make these jungles their home. Migratory birds come here during winter and fly back at the onset of summer. Along the river banks, one can spot water birds such as mergansers, Brahminy ducks and egrets. The park covers an area of 2,840 km, but its core area is 360 km. While tiger sighting is rare, you might just catch sight of the golden langur, the Asiatic buffalo, wild bison, wild dog (dhole), otter and civet. The rare red pandas are also found here but on the Bhutan side. The park has eastern Himalayan moist mixed deciduous forests. The eastern alluvial grassland also covers a major portion of the park. These grasslands are grazing grounds for many herbivores). Upon arrival check-in at the Lodge for overnight stay.

Stay – Manas National Park

Early in the morning, proceed for an Elephant Ride inside the Manas National Park. Later return to Lodge for breakfast. Later in the afternoon, proceed for a Jeep Safari to Mathanguri - Uchila Road (The road cuts through woodland cover and savannah and grassland patches). After enjoying your jeep safari, proceed to explore the nearby villages to see the culture and tradition of the Bodo Tribe. Later in the evening enjoy traditional Bodo Dance performed by local artists. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Stay – Guwahati

After breakfast at the lodge, proceed to enjoy a guided walk at Mathanguri Point on the Bhutan Side (Walks are allowed on Bhutan side, ford the river to move to the Bhutan for sighting golden langurs.The range of these species is limited to areas around Manas and only 40 km west of it.The Mathanguri point is one of the most beautiful points in the entire national park). Later in the afternoon, drive to Guwahati. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. After breakfast at the hotel, visit the famous Kamakhya Devi Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya. It is one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas, situated on the Nilachal Hill in western part of Guwahati. After paying a visit to Kamakhya Devi Temple, drive to the bank of River Brahmaputra to take a boat to the Peacock Island (The smallest inhabited island in the world and one of the three islands, off the Guwahati Shore). Upon arrival, visit the Shiva Temple, later proceed to Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra. Later in the evening, drive back to the hotel for overnight stay.

PAYMENT TERMS

  • 30 days or more before the date of departure: 25% of the total cost
  • 29 - 20 days before the date of departure: 50% of the total cost
  • 19 - 16 days before the date of departure: 100% of the total cost

Important: The booking stands liable to be cancelled if 100% payment is not received 16 days prior to departure date and received amount will be fully forfeited.

CANCELLATION

If you cancel your holiday:

You or any member of your party may cancel their travel arrangements at any time. Written notification or an e-mail to that effect from the person who made the booking must be received at our office. The cancellation charges per person applicable are as per the published cancellation policy below:


  • 30 days or more before the date of departure: 25% of the total cost
  • 29 - 20 days before the date of departure: 50% of the total cost
  • 19 - 10 days before the date of departure: 100% of the total cost
If we change or cancel your holiday:

We do plan the arrangements in advance. It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel arrangements.
